Loughton Arts Centre was opened at 187b High Road, adjacent to the Hall itself, in 2011 with funding from the Lopping Hall Endowment. The intention of the Trustees was to increase the profile of the visual arts in Loughton by providing a permanent exhibition space and also for the Centre to be an information centre for the arts within the area. It continues to be supported by the Endowment

The space is dedicated to the visual arts: painting and drawing, photography, sculpture, design. The Arts Centre offers  a small but well-situated exhibition space to artists both local and from the surrounding area as well as exhibition space to local groups, organisations and schools.  All exhibitions are free and change once a fortnight; all shows run for two weeks from start date.  The Centre is open from 10am to 4 pm, Monday to Saturday. The Arts Centre is staffed by friendly and helpful volunteers who will be happy to discuss any aspect of the exhibition with you, and deal with any other queries you may have.

For information about holding an exhibition at LAC, please see the: "exhibit" page on the LAC website.
